Product description

Exceptional and extremely rare floor lamp designed by Pierre Bos and André Bos in very good condition.

Produced in 1972 by Walter & Moretti. (Signed)

This piece was created as part of the brand’s exclusive collection dedicated entirely to anodized aluminium — one of the most iconic materials associated with the Space Age design movement of the 1970s.
Walter & Moretti’s production was highly limited, artisanal, and exceptionally high-end, with only a small number of each design ever manufactured.

This sculptural floor lamp is entirely executed in grey lacquered anodized aluminium and features a square base supporting two interlocking vertical elements formed from curved monoblock slats.

One of the vertical sections is adjustable and rotates to partially conceal the five integrated light sources, allowing both the direction and intensity of the light to be modified according to the desired atmosphere.

The electrical cord and foot switch have been professionally replaced for practical use.

More than a lighting object, this piece functions as a true sculptural statement and brings a strong sense of exclusivity, sophistication, and collectible design history to any interior. A remarkably rare opportunity to acquire an iconic example of French Space Age lighting design.

In 1972, brothers Pierre Bos and André Bos founded Walter & Moretti in Toulouse, a company that would go on to produce a small collection of lighting, objects, and furniture. Their production remained highly exclusive and confidential, with a catalogue consisting of only around thirty pieces, known mainly among collectors and design connoisseurs.

The name Walter & Moretti was inspired by two distant uncles of Pierre and André Bos — a deliberate choice evoking German precision combined with Italian craftsmanship, an ideal combination for design enthusiasts.

The designs were created either by Pierre Bos himself or by the workshop masters. The aluminium pieces were produced in extremely limited editions. From the early 1970s onwards, their approach was not that of industrial design, but rather that of master craftsmen seeking to elevate and transform their chosen material beyond purely industrial production.
