Beautiful large LT328 Table Lamp in very good condition.
Designed by Carlo Nason.
Manufactured by Mazzega in the 1970s.
A sculptural Italian table lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega in the 1970s. The LT328 features four interlocking, hand-blown Murano glass elements in pulegoso glass, arranged in a striking layered composition on its metal structure.
The traditional pulegoso technique incorporates tiny air bubbles into the glass, creating a softly textured appearance. When illuminated, the layered glass diffuses the light beautifully, producing a warm, atmospheric glow.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the LT328 is its ingenious internal mechanical system. The metal structure incorporates circular support rings that hook onto threaded pins, each fitted with small brass washers to secure one glass element to the next. This entirely manual and modular assembly is both clever and highly effective, demonstrating the technical precision and engineering innovation characteristic of Mazzega’s production during the era.
Combining innovative construction with the expressive qualities of Murano glass, the LT328 is a distinctive example of Italian modernist lighting from the 1970s. Its sculptural silhouette and sophisticated construction make it an elegant statement piece for contemporary, modernist and mid-century interiors.
