The daybed is characterized by Sober design and simple lines. Made from oak wood, with the characteristic box joints on the corners. This oak wood version is pretty rare, mostly you will find the the elm wood version.

Pierre Chapo designed this daybed in 1959 for the writer Samuel Becket and named it ‘Godot’, in reference to the play ‘Waiting for Godot’.

The mattress is new and professionally upholstered in a beautiful thick Bouclé fabric in a ecru/beige color.

Pierre Chapo (1927-1987) was an architect, furniture designer and lecturer. After graduating from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris he opened his own workshop in Clamart and Paris. Pierre Chapo was an outrageous skilful carpenter and cabinetmaker.
