Product description
Set of high quality Paul Tuttle ‘Arco’ lounge chairs in very good condition. Made by Strässle Switzerland. The chairs have a very heavy polished chrome-plated metal frame. The seating of these ‘Arco’ chairs is made from a 4-5 mm. thick natural brown ‘Neck leather’ which is quite rare. ‘Neck leather’ is a thick aniline leather with a rustic, roughly grained surface structure with distinctive neck wrinkles, shrinking scars and embossments. Neck is extremely durable and almost indestructible. It feels warm and is comfortable and skin-friendly. These chairs are extremely comfortable and in very good condition. Paul Tuttle decided in World War II after an India employment with the American Air Force to pursue consistently his own way of the self expression. Accordin to studies at the Art Center College in Pasadena and the work as architect and designer with Alvin Lustig, in Frank Lloyd Taliesin West, with Welton Becket & Associates, Knoll international and Doetsch Grether & Cie sketches Paul Tuttle since 1967 furniture for Strässle.
