Midcentury side table in good condition.
Designed by Wim Rietveld Manufactured by Pastoe in the 1950s.
The table has a black lacquered metal frame and perforated shelve with bent edges.
The tip is made from plywood and is lacquered in a light grey color.
Wim Rietveld was born in Holland in 1924. He is the young son of the famous architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld. He studied design at the Academy of Hague. Once he finished his studies, he joined the Gispen manufacturer as a designer. He designed numerous pieces of furniture for the desk offices. He wanted to create practical and solid pieces for the largest number. The University of Delft offered him a job in 1973 into the Industrial Design department. Rietveld is considered as one of the greatest Dutch designers of his generation.
